What could possibly draw thousands of processing industry professionals to a convention center in Rosemont, Illinois, you ask? Why, the 40th Anniversary 2016 International Powder & Bulk Solids Conference and Exhibition, of course!

From May 3-5, Sly personnel, including Steve Ragan, president; Bill Kurz, vice president; Mike Maxwell, engineering manager; and Wendy Nora, OEM sales director; traveled to the Powder Show to re-connect, share information, and visit with their colleagues and customers at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.

The Powder Show is a biannual event consisting of a full conference schedule and exhibition designed to advance careers through speaker and panel sessions focused on the present trends and the future of the industry. The exhibition allows companies to display their products and network while providing training and education for professionals in attendance. The show’s website describes the week as “an unmatched resource for processing professionals looking to learn.”

During the conference, Sly Incorporated hosted a lunch open house, presidential suite style, on May 3rd and May 4th from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The lunch was open to Sly representatives and customers and was well-attended.

Sly offered flexibility in the timing of its lunch, allowing exhibitors to partake in the festivities in shifts, while maintaining coverage of their own booths.

Sly was also pleased to have in attendance some of our longest-tenured sales representatives, who have worked with dedication in their roles with Sly for over 30 years. Sly extends warmest appreciation to these reps.

“Those who attended appreciated the opportunity to step away from the show floor for a few minutes and relax in a comfortable environment with colleagues,” said Wendy Nora, who helped plan and attended the event.

The luncheon also provided an opportunity for Sly vice president Bill Kurz to honor TEC Engineering as the number one sales territory for 2015. Bill presented an official award to Harvey Kinsey and Bob Jeremias to thank them for their hard work.

SLY hopes to see everyone again soon at The Powder Show 2018! Thanks to all who attended our luncheon event.
